چکیده

Sol-gel method was applied to synthesize ultrafine nano α-alumina particles using aqueous solutions of aluminum isopropoxide and 0.5 M aluminum nitrate hydrate. Sodium dodecylbenzen suffocate and Sodium bis-2ethylhexyl sulfosuccinate were also used as surfactant stabilizing agents. The prepared solution was stirred for 48 hours at 60°C, then, the resultant gelled mass was dried at 90°C, and finally, calcined at 1200°C for about 1 hour. The samples were characterized by different techniques such as, Brunauer-Emmet-Teller method, X-ray diffraction, Thermogravimetry analysis, Differential Scanning Calorimetry, Fourier transform infrared spectra, Scanning electron microscopy and Transmission electron microscopy. The results indicated that the addition of sodium dodecylbenzen sufonates and sodium bis-2ethylhexyl sulfosuccinate not only affected the particle size and shape of the produced nanoparticles but also the degree of aggregation. However, sodium dodecylbenzen sufonate produced better dispersion and finer particles, in range of 20-30 nm, compared to Sodium bis2ethylhexyl sulfosuccinate.

Synthesis of nanosized TiO2 powder by Sol-Gel method in acidic conditions

The preparation of nano-sized TiO2 by titanium tetraisopropoxide (Ti(OiPr)4) via sol-gelmethod using acid as a catalyst is investigated and the optimized conditions concerning theproportional amount of acid, water, alcohol is established by XRD and SEM. The effect ofcalcination temperature on phase transformation of TiO2 (rutile, anatase and brookite) wasdetermined by XRD. The smallest grain si...

A sol-gel based method for preparation of Ni/La-Al2O3 as a new catalyst for dechlorination of monochlorobenzene

In this study, two new Ni/La-Al2O3 catalysts were prepared by a sol-gel method, with different aluminium precursors (aluminium triisopropoxide and aluminium nitrate). The catalysts were characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM), X-ray fluorescence (XRF), X-ray diffraction (XRD), BET specific surface area, and particle size analysis (PSA) techniques. The BET results showed that the par...

Preparation of nano bioactive glass and investigation of its properties in different volume of solution

Nano Bioactive glass material of the type CaO–P2O5–SiO2 was obtained by the sol-gel processing method at considerably lower temperatures than required for conventional melting methods. As a new modification, volume of solution was changed in order to investigate its effects on the properties of bioglass samples. The obtained material was characterized by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), surface ...
